About Me
Dr Weng-Tak Poon is a specialist General practitioner (FRACGP) and one of the principal doctors at Yarra Medical.
Originally from Scotland, Dr Poon studied at the University of Edinburgh and was awarded the Vellupillai Ophthalmology Prize in 2005. He has worked in various major UK hospitals, including Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham and Manchester Royal Infirmary, and served as a medical examiner at the University of Manchester. For the past 10 years, he has been a GP in Melbourne and has developed a particular interest in mental health and occupational health. He is a registered physician for the Queensland Coal Board and an Authorised Health Professional for the Rail Industry.
